Indian Railways Launches Special 6.0 Cleanliness Drive at Izzatnagar Division Stations
Indian Railways' Special Campaign 6.0 is driving cleanliness awareness at major stations in the Izzatnagar Division through passenger outreach, four-category waste segregation, street plays and cultural programmes.
As part of the campaign, passengers are being educated about cleanliness through Rail Jansamvad programmes organised at major railway stations across the division. Railway officers, supervisors and employees are actively participating in these activities to strengthen public awareness and encourage greater passenger involvement in maintaining hygiene at stations.
During the Rail Jansamvad programmes, railway supervisors are informing passengers about the proper use of four designated categories of dustbins for wet waste, dry waste, sanitary waste and other special types of waste. Passengers are being advised to segregate waste according to its nature and dispose of it in the appropriate bins.
The railway administration is highlighting the importance of waste segregation in supporting scientific waste disposal and maintaining cleanliness across railway premises. The initiative seeks to ensure that passengers understand how their everyday waste disposal practices can contribute to improving station hygiene.
To extend the cleanliness message to a wider audience, street plays and cultural programmes are also being organised at various railway stations. Through these activities, passengers are being encouraged to understand their responsibility towards cleanliness, dispose of waste properly and adopt hygienic behaviour in public places.
The railway administration aims to improve cleanliness arrangements at stations through active passenger participation while developing a sense of collective responsibility towards maintaining public spaces.
Railway authorities have appealed to passengers not to litter, to use designated dustbins and to ensure proper segregation of waste. The administration has emphasised that passenger cooperation is essential to maintaining clean, attractive and better-managed railway premises.
